Unser “Winter” war herrlich!
Einige Verrückte kamen zu Besuch: aus Oregon, New York,
Deutschland, Florida, und Kanada. Von da kam Keith Thomson, ein “alter” Hangflug-Kumpel,
der schon über zehn Jahre nicht mehr geflogen war, und sich
entrosten wollte. Heiliger Strohsack, ist der wieder besessen!
Es trug aber auch unglaublich gut und fast jeden Tag seines Aufenthalts.
Kaum zurück in Kanada, schaffte er es in die kanadische
F3J Mannschaft! Herzlichen Glückwunsch, Keith, Du gehst
nach Frankreich im August! Wir meinen ja schon, daß ihm
seine Fliegerei hier auf unserer Aerofinca ein bischen dazu geholfen
hat. |
Visitors
We had a good “winter!” We had a few intrepid
visitors: from Oregon, New York, Germany, Florida, and Canada.
Among the latter was Keith Thomson, an “old” slope’n
buddy, who hadn’t flown in over ten years and who wanted
to limber up. Man, did he ever get hooked again! He was blessed
with unbelievable lift almost every day. Right after his return
to Canada, he made the Canadian F3J team. Congratulations,
Keith, you’re going to France in August! We want to believe
that his time at our AeroFinca helped him make the team. |

Pasamos un “invierno” maravilloso.
Tuvimos algunos visitantes intrépidos de: Oregon, Nueva
York, Alemania, Florida y Canadá. Entre estos últimos,
Keith Thomson, un “viejo” amigo de vuelo, quien no
había volado por lo menos en 10 años y quería
ponerse al día con su habilidad de piloto. !Carambas,
si lo hizo! La ladera le ofreció ascendencia extraordinaria
todos los días y Keith no solamente revivió su
amor y destreza por el vuelo sino que tan pronto regreso a Canadá quedo
seleccionado en el equipo de F3J de Canadá. ¡Felicitaciones
Keith, vas para Francia en agosto! Nosotros queremos creer que
su estadía en la AeroFinca tuvo gran parte en este logro. |

Das Erste Jahr
Kaum zu glauben: wir sind in Kolumbien vor einem Jahr angekommen.
Was haben wir denn bisher geschafft?
Hauptsächlich haben wir uns gut eingebürgert in
unsere Nachbarschaft und sind aktiv inder Gemeinde geworden.
La Bogotana (Marcela) und El Alemán (Dieter) sind
bekannt und gern gesehen in Girardota und seinen Bergsiedlungen.
Und wie siehts mit dem Modellflug aus?
Nun, zunächst haben wir einen Modellsegelflugclub gegründet. Wir sind Mitglied in den kolumbianischen Luftsportvereinigungen und der FAI. In Kolumbien wird der gesamte Luftsport (Modelle und Manntragende) gerade komplett neu organisiert und unser Club Altovuelo ist vorn mit dabei.
Auch wirken wir aktiv bei der Pflege “unseres” Haushangs
mit, der hier einfach nur morrow plancho genannt wird. Der
Hang erzeugt hervorragenden Aufwind, und es ist wichtig für
uns, daß er uns erhalten bleibt. |
The
First Year
Hard to believe: we arrived in Colombia one year ago. So,
what have we accomplished?
Most importantly, we have become active and integrated in
our neighborhood and our community. La Bogotana (Marcela) and
el Alemán (Dieter) are well known and liked in Girardota
and its mountain neighborhoods.
But what about model-airplane related issues?
Most significantly, we have formed a RC soaring club, which
is part of the Colombian aero-sports organizations and the
FAI. Colombia is in the process of structuring sport flying
(full-size and model), and our Club Alto Vuelo is on the forefront
of this process.
Also, we have become voluntary caretakers of “our” slope
flying site. This slope provides outstanding lift, and
it is in our interest to maintain it. |

Primer Año
Es difícil creer que hace un año llegamos a
Colombia. Así de que, ¿qué hemos realizado?
Primordialmente, somos parte activa e integrada en nuestro
vecindario y comunidad. La Bogotana (Marcela) y el Alemán (Dieter) son bien conocidos y queridos
en Girardota y las veredas de la montaña.
Pero, y ¿qué hay en relación a los aeromodelos?
Lo mas significante, hemos formado un club de planeadores
de ladera radio controlados (RC), el cual forma parte de las
organizaciones de deportes aéreos de Colombia y de la
Federación Aeronáutica Internacional —FAI.
Colombia está en el proceso de estructuración
de los deportes de vuelo (aviones regulares y modelos) y el
Club Alto Vuelo está a la vanguardia de este proceso.
Además, nos hemos convertido en protectores voluntarios
de "nuestra" ladera de vuelo. Esta ladera proporciona
ascendencia extraordinaria y es nuestro interés mantenerla. |
