Back up a minute... I decided to attach rigid tips instead of letting the ailerons run all the way out. I cut off the aileron tips and glued them permanently to the wing tips. The balsa insert is as wide as the goop hinges will be. I decided to build in quite a bit (~3/32") of reflex in the tips to act as wash-out. I'm hoping this will improve slow-speed handling somewhat and maybe prevent stalls from starting at the tip. Down side is the tips may induce high-speed flutter; only flight testing will tell.
